Obama reinforces argument against travel ban, urges Americans to resist Ebola ‘hysteria’:
President Obama on Saturday repeated his argument against a travel ban on West Africa where Ebola is an epidemic and urged Americans not to give into hysteria about the deadly virus, saying the U.S. is not dealing with a similar outbreak.
“We have to be guided by the science,” the president said in his weekly radio and online address. “We’re a nation of more than 300 million people. To date, we’ve seen three cases.”
If I am not mistaken, isn’t that the way Ebola started in West Africa by one or two people being infected?
FYI Mr. O; just in case you are reading the GG, it is called “common sense and being proactive” not hysteria.
“Common sense” tells a person that they should not invite someone to their house that has a contagious disease.
“Proactive” is to take the necessary steps to prevent any situation from happening before it happens by taking the proper steps ahead of time, not after it becomes out of control. Just like going to a service station to get a tire that has a nail in it fixed before the tire goes flat.
Putting common sense and proactivity in unison is much better than speculating whether Ebola will get fully blown in the USA and cause a real catastrophe.
I think there is a reason all of the medical people are wearing space suit that come in contact with the infected people and some are still getting sick.
This “over the top benevolence” of the USA has come back and bit us in the ass more than once. I would think by this time our leaders would catch on.
Shut the doors until it is all over Mr. O. But who am I to give someone advice that would appoint a “Czar” to combat the Ebola disease here in the good old US of A that doesn’t have any medical background???
