Holy shit; someone woke up the old-timers so they could make a decision. Must have been a real task for them.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court said Saturday that Texas can use its controversial new voter identification law for the November election.
WOW. Why can’t a state make its own decisions? I am sure that the politicians in every state are as crooked as the rest.
A majority of the justices rejected an emergency request from the Justice Department and civil rights groups to prohibit the state from requiring voters to produce certain forms of photo identification in order to cast ballots. Three justices dissented.
According to www.civilrights.org the Supreme is given about 7000 cases a year to review and the justices pick and choose the ones they want to get involved in and whittle that 7000 number down to about 80. That is what I call “cutting the fat.”
Out of the 365 days a year there are 263 days for the average working man. If the justices worked half of that time they would work 131.5 days a year. That means it takes the senior citizen group 1.64 days to for each decision.
Why would it take so long to decide if the Lone Star State can legally ask voters for photo identification?
Why and the hell not when there is so much voter fraud going on in this country. Most of all, why do these under-worked and over-paid justices have to deal with a state problem?? They must be sending a message to all of the Texas politicians that they are no competent enough to make their own decisions.
That is as bad as congress getting involved in the 1995 baseball strike. I am positive that they had much more pressing issues to deal with than “who’s on first.”
