Herman McCain is a man that has been on both sides of the proverbial fence and has a different outlook than most black leaders.
Listening to the video, he makes a tremendous of sense.
Herman has a very impressive resume. He is the perfect example of the American dream; be honest, work hard, respect other and most of all get a good education.
There are people of all colors and religions in the country that constantly complain about their circumstances but refuse to do anything about it.
They continue holding their finger in the flame of a candle, constantly complaining about burning themselves but don’t have sense enough to pull it out. As the old say goes; god helps those who help themselves.
Some of these people have been on government assistance so long that their great-great-parents started the cycle going and have become addicted to this way of living.
The government has been the enabler and is not doing these citizens any good at all by perpetuating this way of life. As a matter of fact they are harming them and their future generations to come.
I can not understand the mentality of the politicians that think that welfare or government assistance should be given to able bodied citizens and make zombies out of them.
Social programs were developed years ago to assist people that were in bad health and people that were unable to work for legitimate reasons. What it has escalated into is a very bad and expensive nightmare and is one of the reason our country is broke.
According to the information I dug up; it cost the USA a whopping 814 billion dollars a year for social programs a year. There is a vast majority of the benefactors that are 110% bogus.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
I agree that it is a lot easier for some people to alter their circumstances than other but it is possible if they have the determination to do so.
There should be a lot more leaders like Barkley and McCain that try to direct their people down the right road. It is not an easy thing to do when there are so many elements in their race that are undermining philosophies.
A word to the wise should be sufficient!!
