NYC congressman quitting after admitting tax evasion:

WASHINGTON — A New York congressman who pleaded guilty to tax evasion last week has announced that he is resigning before lawmakers return to Washington next week.

Republican Rep. Michael Grimm pleaded guilty of tax evasion and decided to step down even though he previously said he would not.

It seems that Mike had an epiphany and changed his mind, doing what was best for himself, his family and the public.

Grimm issued a statement Monday, “After much thought and prayer, I have made the very difficult decision to step down from Congress effective January 5th, 2015. This decision is made with a heavy heart, as I have enjoyed a very special relationship and closeness with my constituents, whom I care about deeply.

Not that I believe that Mike saw the light and came to his senses. I think he wanted to save himself and his family some grief and put this thing to rest. He must have been stung by the guilty conscience bug.

If there is such a bug that really exists; optimistically the other tax-dodger Albert Sharpless will be attacked by the entire nest of insects and come clean.  Don’t hold your breath.

Most probably Albert  has  concocted in his devious mind; what the hell is the US government going to do with the measly 4.1 million dollars I owe them? They piss away that much in a 1000^th of a second. I couldn’t disagree with him on that account.
