Tamron Hall with the help of Oprah took a moving look back through the history of the black people in the USA last night on NBC. It should have been eye opening by all who viewed it and should be watched by the entire country.

Anyone that watched this program last night and was not moved by it does not have a heart. The people that participated in the egregious acts against the black people, including their own people, as history reveals, did not have a soul.

It is very hard to imagine that human beings, if that is what you want to call them, had so little regard for the lives of other human beings.

Slavery is one very sad part of our history that should have never happened but there is not one single group that can be tagged with its inception.  It was a combination of treachery and evil from many sides.

Without going into too much detail and rehashing very sensitive issues; it is pathetic to see the mentality and brutality of the many participants at that time in our history.

Grudges and retaliation are very counterproductive to any cause because the past cannot be changed. We cannot change what happened 200 years ago or even yesterday but we can control what happens tomorrow.

I cannot apologize for what someone did back then because I had nothing to do with it. What I can do is be very sympathetic to the cause and not make the same mistakes others have.

There are a couple of things I have on my 2015 New Year’s wish list.  World peace and eliminating racial hatred are two of the priorities.

It is not necessary to like or love everyone in this world; just respect them!!
