Ohio State wins college football’s national championship in style:
Congrats to the under-dog Buckeyes; they made Oregon look like a bunch of sitting ducks last night in a game that rivaled a Super Bowl.
Early in the game the Ducks came out strong, flapping their bills and looked like they were going to kick ass and take names. Their early success didn’t last too long; Marcus Mariota didn’t play to his potential.
Cardale Jones, who started the season for Ohio State’s as a third-string quarterback, came off the bench because the #1 & #2 quarterbacks were in sick bay. No one anticipated Jones playing as well as he did. This kid handled the pig skin like he was born with a football in his hands. There is no way in the world that he looked like a 3rd stringer.
I have said this many times. There is so much under discovered talent sitting on the bench that never get a chance to showcase their stuff; last night Cardale has his shot and came out firing.
Jones did not do it alone, he had plenty of help. The offensive line gave this guy enough time in the backfield to sit down and have a capocolo sandwich and a brewski.
After they shook off the ticks the Bucks defense played an outstanding game and put the hammer to Oregon with regularity.
Ohio State’s # 15 Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns. The kid was a machine; he resembled a D-8 dozer on a Allega construction site.
One man did not win the game alone, it took a team effort to bring home the win for Ohio State.
The Bucks turned the ball over four times but the Ducks were out of lucks and could not capitalize on those buckeyes that were falling out of the tree.
Marcus Mariota came out like gangbusters then the tides turned on the Heisman Trophy winner who didn’t play his best game.
Oregon’s defense are experts in stripping the ball from the runner but when their offense took over, their webbed feet could not take them in for a score.
When the dust settled the final score was Buck 42 – Oregon 20.

The major regret I have about the game; my buddy in Oregon would not take my bet. He wanted to give me 3 and Ohio State, I wanted 4. I should have taken it. So much for hindsight.
