Judge to sentence man convicted in multimillion-dollar fraud involving Miami Heat ex-players
Now this guy is what I call a true friend and a real sports lover.
A judge is preparing to sentence a man who pleaded guilty in a multimillion-dollar scam involving three former Miami Heat players and the team itself.
Haider Zafar ripped off a couple of his friends, Mike Miller, James Jones and Rashard Lewis in 2013 by promising to invest $7.5 million in various business opportunities; must have been swamp land in The Everglades.
Naturally the rip-off artist Zafar kept the money and used most of it for his own personal enjoyment instead of investing it as promised. That is not the best part; this sports aficionado use about 1 million of the loot to buy Heat season tickets for the 3 years so he could watch the guys he swindled play basketball. That is what I would consider really a loyal friend.
Zafar the thief also pleaded guilty in a previous case to swindling a Washington, D.C., businessman out of $10 million between 2008 and 2010.
Zafar must be a real silver tongue devil.
