Saudi blogger receives 50 lashings before crowd for insulting Islam:

There would be boat loads lot of bloggers going to the post in this country if we had to live under the same oppressive, rigid, archaic, domineering and savage rules that some of the Islamic countries enforce.

A man named Raif Badaw who is the co-founder of a now banned website called Liberal Saudi Network was flogged 50 times before he had a chance to eat his bacon and eggs.

Raif arrived at the mosque (what’s a better place to whip someone than at place of worship) in a police car. To justify him being flogged the authorities read the charges out to him in front of a crowd.

He was forced to stand with his back to onlookers with his feet and hands bound, but his face visible. Raif is one tough cookie; all during the flogging he remained silent and did not flinch.

In another incident in 2012 Badaw was arrested after criticizing Saudi Arabia’s powerful clerics on his blog. In 2013, he was cleared of apostasy, which could have carried a death sentence.

Last May, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 1,000 lashes. Amnesty International said Badaw would receive 50 lashes once a week for 20 weeks.

These savage lashers don’t even give the man time to heal before flogging him again.

Badaw is a very heroic person and should be admired by his countrymen and the rest of the world.

Some people in the USA do a lot of bitching as to how our government is operated and I am first in line. The one thing that every citizens of the USA has that many countries do not is, FREEDOM – freedom of speech and expression.

God Bless America!!
