White House, NYT leave Bushes out of lead photos from Selma march:
The decision by The New York Times to run a front-page image on Sunday of President Obama — and family — leading a march to mark the 50th anniversary of the Selma civil rights clashes, while leaving out of the image former President George W. Bush and his wife Laura, apparently was mirrored in the “official White House photo” of the event.
Where I come from it is called dirty pool or your Ma Ma wears combat boots.
It really is a shame that ALL news agencies don’t report the news as it happens and not just the biased ways they spin it.
I have complimented the democrats on occasions as well as the republicans and have talked about them both like a dog if the situation warranted it.
Personally GWB should get as much ink for being present in the Selma march as Obama did. Not because he is white but because he is a former president. There is a certain amount of respect that office deserves even if we do not agree with everything they do.
I guess that it is more significant for some news agencies to show or mention the fact that Albert Sharpless attended the march than a former president.
A half-truth is sometimes worse than not telling the truth.
It would be very gratifying and commendable if the whole truth and nothing but the truth were told by all news medias.
I don’t believe for a second that the reason The Times left out GWB is because it was an official White House photo event. If that was the case, that is all the more reason that the former president and his wife be included in The Times selective print.
On the other hand, if this was strictly an Obama sponsored event and Mr. O did instruct The Times not to photograph GWB that is a different story. Tell it like it is gents.
It is no secret that the vast majority of the news media does more harm to race relations in this country than they do good. They are always stirring up the hatred coals; good news does not sell newspapers.
Report the news as it should be told and let the public form their own decisions as to what is right and what is wrong.
