We ask ourselves; who are one of the role models in our society that are supposed to set the standards for our kids? The teachers in our schools; of course.
Not so in Atlanta. Deliberate cheating by the EDUCATORS dates back to early 2001, when the scores on statewide skills tests that were initiated to help turn around deficient students were altered.
These EDUCATORS are supposed to be the crem della crem and shining examples to their students. They all failed the test. It almost seems too hard to comprehend that there were so many people involved in this crackdown who are employed to assist in advancing the kids in their education and evolution as honest and decent human beings. They are doing just the opposite by making the test easier and falsifying the test results.
Why work at Mcdonalds making the minimum wage when you can sell drugs and make 100 times the money? Same principal different scenario. Great role models!!!
In 2013, a Fulton County grand jury indicted 35 educators from the district, including principals, teachers and testing coordinators.
The cheating was so widespread that the investigation uncovered about 180 teachers at 44 schools that were implicated.
After this go-round was completed, 11 EDUCATORS were convicted of racketeering and making false statements.
This monumental stunt by the EDUCATORS is sure to make a detrimental and long lasting impression on the people it was supposed to be help. Why study hard and advance oneself if cheating is easier?
Unfortunately when there is a shake-up in any department or occupation; the few bad apples make the entire industry look bad.
