Carolina cop charged with murder for shooting black man; protesters gather:
(CNN) Demonstrators flocked to North Charleston City Hall in South Carolina on Wednesday to protest the shooting death of an African-American man by a police officer.
Is this unbelievable or not that this gun happy cop knowing just how tentative racial relations are in this country would shoot an unarmed black man in the back 8 times while he was running away? There is no excuse under any circumstances for any cop to shoot someone in the back as they are running away unless they are firing back at them.
The soon to be ex-cop Michael Slager has to go down in the record books as one of the most incompetent, gun happy, cold blooded people on the planet and had no business wearing a badge. There is absolutely no reason that he should have gone to the extremes he did, all because Walter Scott was driving with a broken tail light.
What is the answer to these deliberate acts of violence? Can they do a better job of screening potential candidates for policemen? Do the cops need a mental evaluation once a year? There has to be a solution.
