Celebrating the 2,000th post with The Goomba Gazette:
I started blogging in 2011, hitting 3 keys at a time with these big fingers of mine, usually called hunting and pecking, being very thankful for spell check and the number of posts just kept piling up. Before I knew it I had written 500 then 1,000 posts; finally today I am happy to say this is my 2,000th post.
As the readers of the Goomba Gazette have noticed I don’t take any prisoners. I am very opinionated, not always right but try to be and enjoy trying to help guide people that I think are uninformed, have a different slant on some topics, that have been sheltered in one way or another or can’t see the forest because of the trees. When I started blogging I really had no particular ambition or direction, just wanted to express my views.
Prior to blogging I thought I was pretty well informed about current events and what was going on in the world. After got serious about blogging I finally realized just how much turmoil existed in the world. To put it mildly; at times it is very disturbing and almost depressing to see what deplorable condition mankind has evolved into in many areas.
I was a teacher for years and helped many of my students develop into stand-up citizens and street-wise human-beings through hard work, dedication, honesty and the examples I set for them. That is why I am so adamant and opinionated in my posts because I do practice what I preach. A person cannot be a good teacher if they have not been a good student. A person cannot advise and direct if they are a poor role model.
I began fumbling around picking news topics in politics, sports, religion and any other topics I wanted to give my opinion on. I try to stay down the middle of the road. I will criticize someone one day and the next day compliment them for something they did worthwhile. I try to stay objective.
It has always been my belief that if a person is going to critique a subject, comment on an issue or give an opinion they should be well informed, do it honestly, tell it like it is and shoot straight from the hip.
Embellishing the truth from time to time for the sake of humor or insignificant conversation is not harmful but when any person, whether they are in government, religion, entertainment, news media or any other position of authority, it is paramount that they are truthful to set the record straight and in doing so set a good example for the people that hold them in high esteem. It always takes 25 lies to get out of 1.
We have recently seen many examples of lying and embellishment by politicians and some members of the news media that sends the wrong message to the young kids in this country.
Years back there was an article in the USA Today that made a severe impression on the kids. It stating that one particular sex act was not considered having sex because their own president said it was not considered a sex act. I think you know who I am referring to. I will send you the BILL later. This is just one of many piss poor examples some of our leaders set for younger people.
One of my main focuses has been politics, only because not very many of the politicians are doing what they are paid for and that is to represent the citizens of the USA in a responsible manner.
It is a disgrace what kind of animosity exists between our elected officials and they are too stubborn, pig-headed and ignorant to try and compromise with one-other. Their approval rating is on 12% positive 88% negative. There is definitely something wrong with those numbers, they should be reversed. From the top to the bottom, the people that are supposed to be setting the examples are the worse offenders.
I am not republican, democrat, socialist or communist. I am not a ball buster, agitator or a trouble maker. I happen to be a very patriotic American, former Marine that for the most part is distraught to see the condition our once great country is in today.
People in the media and entertainment industries are making a mockery of what once were respectful standards we lived by that helped develop this country into something great. Why is it necessary to advertise female stimulants, rubbers and female douche on prime time TV??? Kids 3 and 4 years old are watching this trash. It was more tasteful when certain topics were respected.
Now with the out of control drug and alcohol situation, child porno, promiscuity, degenerate pedophiles in all walks of life, low to no morality and to put the icing on the cake, this PC-ness is absolutely ruining our society. When did we ever think that flying the American flag or using the name God would be taboo in this country?
Politics and politicians are going bananas, wars and terrorism are rampant, people shooting each other left and right and race relations are regressing instead of progressing. The lists of deficits is endless.
My main purpose in blogging is to try and make a difference. Hopefully someone will read what I have written and a light will go on in their head, possibly change their course of action or give them a new insight on the matter.
I don’t mean to insult, embarrass, be-little, demean or berate anyone; my motivation is simply to try to make a difference by telling it like it is, something that our news medias have difficulty doing. How can 10 medias look at the same thing and have 12 different opinions? Everyone of them put their own slant on any issue to coincide with their ideologies.
Race is probably one of the most crucial elements we have to deal with in this country today but it doesn’t have to be that way.
I am not a prejudice person. I do believe that all men are created equal, some just have more sense than others. I am as prejudice as the person I am dealing with. If anyone shows me respect, no matter what race, religion or color, I will give back that person exactly what they gave me. I will even make the first gesture. Smile and say hello, it can’t hurt. Get rid of the attitudes. If everyone in this world could develop this same mindset it would be a much better place to live.
Are there monumental problems in the race department? Absolutely yes. Do we have some cities and law enforcement agencies that are out of line and misuse their power? Absolutely yes. Do we have a bunch of agitators out there that keep stoking the racial fires? Absolutely yes.
Instead of the government pissing our tax dollars away, they should be creating schools and classes/programs to try and educate the future generations. It can be done and has been done. We need it on a national level.
These issues have to be controlled and settled with diplomacy and not violence. We have seen through the years that violence is not the answer but only increases the tension and hatred among people. People should be taught how to deal with issues through education, not violence.
One of my main concerns is the development of the kids. With some of the absolute bums the kids look up to as role models in the sports, political, religious and entertainment industries they are bound to develop into less than acceptable, solid citizens. Thank goodness for the few out there that are trying to make a difference.
The entertainment industry is loaded with bimbos and bozzos that are a total disgrace to themselves and horrible role models all for the sake of the dollar and ratings. The airwaves are inundated with them, The same goes for some of the religious leaders, government officials, teachers and people that are supposed to be held in high regard.
I watched Barbara Walters interview last night with that wack job teacher who shit canned her family to have sex with one of her students who was 13 when she got involved with him. The media appears to be making heroic people out of them instead of trying to capitalizing on their infamy. It is all about ratings and ratings make money.
The readers of the Goomba Gazette can have faith for what I post. I am old enough, experienced enough, have an abundance of street-sense and worldly experiences and have operated on both sides of the fence. I forgot to add MODEST!!
No one can convince me that on the whole things have improved for mankind through the years. In medicine, science, technology there have been phenomenal advances but in the development of human-beings and his/her basic moralistic values and behavioral progressions, we have gone backwards.
Money, greed and power have overtaken the high rollers that control our governments, big business, media and all of the powerful positions that control our country. There are very few of them like Bill Gates and his crew that give back to the community.
I am constantly looking for news items that are upbeat and positive but I am running into a brick wall on a daily basis.
Personally, I don’t think anything is going to change back to the way it was because there are too many outside influences pulling the other way.
PC-ness is one of our biggest enemies. The people that are the staunch practitioners of PC are the ones that are looking through a kaleidoscope, fooling themselves by not accepting reality and only looking at the brilliant colors. They do not want to look outside of it to see the true reality of what is happening around them. It has become a brutal world.
No critical situation has ever been resolved by burying one’s head in the sand and hope that it will go away. That is not how the real world works.
With my 2,000th post; I sincerely wish everyone in the world peace and harmony. You don’t have to like one another, just respect them and hopefully that consideration will be returned to you. Pass that idea on and it may get contagious.
Keep reading the Goomba Gazette and pass it on to your contacts and friends.
Semper Fi and God Bless America
