‘Bored’ Oklahoma teen convicted in random ‘thrill kill’:
Welcome to America one and all; to the land of milk and honey; maybe. Make sure to send your kids here for a better education but there is no guarantee that they will come back home.
These are the kind of kids that want to emulate bums like Aaron Hernandez. They see guys like the former multi-millionaire football player surrounded with all of the luxuries of life and for an extra kick they go around killing people; they want to be just like them. They got their wish.
Kids especially are taught by examples and have certain people they admire and look up to, role models.
One of the two bored teenage killers that had nothing better to do was convicted Friday of killing Christopher Lane, a 23-year-old college student from Australia.
Chancey Luna, the shooter was found guilty of first-degree murder Friday for his role in the August 2013 drive-by shooting Lane. His accomplish Michael Jones who was the driver of the car was also found guilty in a separate trial.
How terrible the parents of Christopher must feel to have lost their son in such a foolish manner.
The jury recommended that Luna spend life in prison without the possibility of parole because he was under 18 when the crime was committed.
Who knows where these two teenage killers and others like them go wrong? In many situations like this I would say their problems began at home. Lack of a father figure, a mother that is seldom there, broken home, horrible role models, keeping the wrong company, no discipline or guidance are all contributors to kids taking the wrong path.
Chances are, if these two teenaged killers were not in each-others company that particular day this killing would have never taken place. Some people feed off of one another’s personalities both good and bad.
This is where I stress so strongly that kids should be taught to be leaders not followers. They do not want to be ostracized by their peers so they are like the sheep that jump off the cliff following their leader.
Unfortunately there is no easy answer to this problem except bending the tree when it is young and education.
