Japan’s maglev train breaks its own speed record:
Always late for work? Move to Japan and your tardiness will be a thing of the past.
TOKYO – The Japanese Maglev train broke its own record.
The train that sits slightly above the tracks, that is why it is called a maglev, standing for magnetic levitation, recently reached a speed of 375 miles an hour beating its old record of 361 miles an hour.
This thing is so fast it looks like a blur when it goes by. You hear it and its gone.
I don’t know what the rush is to get from point A to point B but I think technology is getting to the point where it may become dangerous.
I have seen train wreckage of trains that went 100 miles an hour and it wasn’t pretty. I hope one never crashes but if it does they are going to need a lot of 8 x 10 envelopes to put all of the wreckage bits and pieces in.
This superfast conveyance of transportation cost $ 76 billion dollars to construct.
To put it in perspective, this rocket train travels at ½ the speed of sound. To my taste, for ground travel, it is too fast for me. I will take the safe route.
