What a joke last night’s waltz in the ring was last night.
Last night theme should have been the slicing of the ring side salamis’.
There is no way that Manny Pacquiao came to win decisively over Floyd head lock Mayweather.
This ballet session in the ring we witnessed should be a good message to all of the diehard fight fans around the world that it is just big business, all about the money and all hype.
To all of the stiffs that paid 100’s of 1,000’s of dollars to see that game of hide and go seek, they deserve to get taken. Some reports were that ringside tickets went for as much as a 500,000.00. Their soldi would have gone to a better cause if they sent it to my foundation.
Mayweather, as usual used every dirty trick in his vast arsenal, especially the old head lock routine many times but never had a point taken away from him; not that a point would have done The Filipino Prince any good.
We always have to give the devil their due even if we don’t like the person. That braggadocios pugilist definitely knows his way around the ring. He is fast, illusive, knows all the tricks of the trade and used them all last night to win the easy decision over Pacquiao.
Every time Pacquiao would hammer Mayweather and get him on the ropes, Mayweather would tie him up in a clinch so he wouldn’t get hurt; smart ring-man-ship but not very entertaining.
When Pacquiao did get in a few good punches he would retreated immediately and let Mayweather regroup. Pacquiao never really put the pressure on Mayweather like everyone thought he should. He was a big disappointment but a rich one.
At the beginning of the fight Mayweather came out a little apprehensive, you could see it in his eye, not know exactly what to expect from the Filipino fireball but as the fight progressed Mayweather came out of his shell and got into his hot-dogging routines.
The best part of last night was getting together with a bunch of guy, eating and drink, telling bullshit stories and a lot of busting a lot of balls. The fight was so boring that in the 8th round I had to wake half of them up. Check out the guy with the blanket on his legs. I had to get him a hot water bottle in the 3rd round to keep his legs warm. With all the old jocks there it looked like a nursing home.
As for the fight game nothing has changed. Months and months of hype and very little action. The only people that got beat up were the paying fans; they took a good shellacking.
The fight before the main event was a hell of a lot better. The only thing I didn’t care for, the young kid that lost was totally overmatched. He made a valid effort but was totally out of the contest.
Not a bad payday for Mayweather who made $180 million or $83,333 for every second he was in the ring. He definitely is laughing all the way to the bank.
Pacquiao and his people should have known that in order for him to win, he had to fight with reckless abandon. That he didn’t do especially in the later rounds when he knew he needed a knockout to win.
Anyone that can say that was a good championship fight wasn’t watching the same one I was.
Rodney; good job at the grill – 7 more pound of sausage and 6 more sheet pizzas sheet pizzas next time.
Thanks Frank!!!
