Men among men, heroes among heroes:
Although the Vietnam War was a war that the United States should have never engaged in; these men did what they did, above and way beyond the call of duty serving as POWs’ in Vietnam prison camps.

Because of these patriots and the servicemen that came before and after theses men, we are able to live in and enjoy a life of freedom in the USA. Too often is their sacrifices either never told or forgotten about. We must never forget them.
Conditions in the United States would be 1,000% different if all of its citizens had only 10% of the patriotism as these men displayed while in captivity.
Patriotism for the most part is a dead issue in this country. The only time flags are flying and people stand-up with pride to be recognized is when there is a monumental national natural or terrorists’ catastrophe. Two weeks later when the smoke clears, all of the enthusiasm and loyalty to the country vanishes.
This is one of the reasons I totally recommend that ALL American citizens be compelled to serve at least 2 years in the military. In doing so they may have a better appreciation for what they have and how hard it was to fight for.
For all of the dissenters that refuse to serve; they should all do double the time in a federal prison.
Without pride of country and patriotism a country has nothing. It eventually will come out in the wash.
A lot of people threw rocks at Richard Nixon. Was he a strange person? Absolutely yes. Was he a patriot? Absolutely yes.
He did not do anything any other paranoid person that was running for the presidency didn’t do. The only thing that was his eventual waterloo was his arrogance and foolishness by not destroying his tapes. All in all Richard Tricky Dick Nixon was a very good man and one hell of a patriot.
We have to give credit where it is due. The little guy with one eye, Sammy Davis Jr. was the one that recommended to Nixon that he throw a part for all the POWs’.
Sammy was one hell of a man and probably one of the most talented entertainers ever to put on a pair of tap dancing shoes and pick up a microphone.
