Couple leaves $850,000 estate to U.S. government:
This has to be one of the poorest decisions I ever heard of.
A Seattle couple left nearly $850,000 to the U.S. government as a gesture of thanks to their adopted country.
Peter Petrasek and his wife Joan who emigrated from Czechoslovakia after World War II, must have been hit in the head with a sledge hammer or were sniffing something that looked like powder when they made Uncle Sam as their sole beneficiary.
It can be compared to a couple of questionable cops that stop a drug dealer and find he has a couple million in his truck. Is anyone naive enough to think that the found money ever reaches the police station?
I have no idea in what governmental department the 850 G’s will wind up but I can be sure of one thing; the government is going to piss that away in a nanosecond. 850 G’s to our government is like a little kid standing on the edge of the beach and pissing in the Pacific Ocean. Like the crumbs off a piece of toast.
Hell; 850 thou ain’t even enough for the fuel on Air Force 1 for the Obama’s to get away for the weekend or enough for one good binge for the Secret Service guys.
If the Petraseks’ were so desperate to get rid on their hard earned savings, I would think that there may be some very charities out there that are not thieves and could use the money more than Uncle Sammy. If not, they could have very easliy had their ambulance chaser find me. I would have been happy to take it off their hands. At least I would have shared it with my friends and family.
I can appreciate that the Petrasek’s wanted to show their gratitude to the USA but they should have sent the White House a cake or something. That really hurts.
