Christian bakers fined $135,000 for refusing to make wedding cake for lesbians:
Jane and Jill went up the hill to purchase a wedding cake; Jane got pissed at the baker – Jill found an ambulance chaser and they both wound up with a big slice out of the bakers bank account.
I think it is pathetic that a married couple from Oregon, both citizens of the United States of America, both law abiding Christians, who own and operates a bakery in the land of the tree huggers are being severely fined for upholding their religious beliefs. All the while, the United States government is standing its head trying to make sure that the Muslims in this country are being treated fairly according to their religious standards.
Is there something wrong with this picture?
Aaron and Melissa Klein, the owners of Sweet Cakes By Melissa, have been ordered to pay $135,000 in damages to a lesbian couple after they refused to bake them a wedding cake in 2013.
Some PC organization, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industry (BOLI) awarded $60,000 to Laurel Bowman-Cryer and $75,000 in damages to Rachel Bowman-Cryer for “emotional suffering.”
The guys that wear the robes have to be more consistent with their rulings and not overly prejudicial favoring one religion over another. If the Muslims can be protected to the hilt for their religious beliefs so should every other religion.
The ruling read; This case is not about a wedding cake or a marriage, It is about a business’s refusal to serve someone because of their sexual orientation. Under Oregon law, that is illegal.” What the hell does Oregon States laws say about a person’s religious beliefs and rights?
From what I found about the religious standings in Oregon, it doesn’t surprise me that some heathen in the back woods would come up with a ruling as they did. Oregon has the least amount of people in the USA with any type of religious affiliations. Only 1 in 4 people have any religious connection. That is perfectly OK, believe or don’t believe, that is a person right. But it shouldn’t give the judge a license to penalize anyone for following their religious beliefs, if they are within reason.
The $135,000.00 was one hell of a wedding gift for the lesbians. Are they still considered lesbians after they tie the knot or do they fall into the newly established category set up by the Un-Supreme Court, as wife and wife ?
Today is the 4th of July (Independence Day) in the USA but it appears that a lot of our independence has been taken away from within by the liberal judicial system and the PC-ers. The sad part of it is, the rest of the country is sitting on their hands and letting them bulldoze them.
A few years back when most of the citizens of this country still had their heads screwed on right; if someone went to any establishment for a service and the owner could not or did not want to accommodate them, they went somewhere else.
I am sure that Jill and Jane could have found another bakery in Oregon that could service them or was this a set up for a big pay day? Is it possible their ambulance chaser drove them there?
If we don’t get this country back on track (it doesn’t look good) so all of its citizens, not for just the chosen few PC-ers, can enjoy our freedoms and independence as the laws were written, this Jane and Jill issue will be just the tip of the wedding cake.
When did we ever think we would see issues such as the flying of the American flag, prayers in school, someone being called mister or misses, not being able to display Christmas setting, stopping a chaplain from ministering to the family and colleagues of a dead sailor become points of contention in the USA? The list is endless.
Way back when, when most Americans worked for a living, we didn’t have these contrived/manmade problems. There are people out there that have entirely too much time on their hands that are constantly stirring the pot for their own personal beliefs and or gains and not for the betterment of the entire country.
If anyone believes that America is thriving and progressing, they were not born and raised when I was and can not see the regression of the USA as I can. It is not something to brag about or be proud of.
Happy 4th of July to all the patriotic, hardworking, taxpaying Americans.
To the rest of you; go get an honest job and start contributing your fair share to the country that is putting cloths on your back and food in your mouth. You have too much time on your hands.
