Arnold Schwarzenegger’s last act as governor still follows the Terminator:
Underhanded/dirty use of power and politics at its finest. This is one of the prime examples of a dirty politician using the powers of his office with total disregard, complete disrespect and consideration for the public that elected him.
Just before the Terminator was terminated as governor of California, he used his executive power to pardon an admitted/convicted murderer Esteban Nunez, the teen who pleaded guilty to stabbing Luis Santos to death in 2008.
At first, Fred Santos, the father of the murdered boy asked himself why Schwarzenegger would care about their case. He actually knew the answer to his own question; it was as apparent as the Terminator having sex with his housemaid and knocking her up. Santos feared political influence from the beginning after he learning that Esteban Nunez wasn’t just an ordinary run of the mill punk killer.
Strange coincidence; the killer kid is the son of Fabian Nunez, California’s a most powerful Democrat and a political ally to the governor. How about those apples.
One picture says a thousand words!!
Last minute pardons are nothing new in the world of dirty politics; it has been going on forever with outgoing governors and presidents. They are ABSOLUTELY political favors extended to people that are close to, have donated money to or are related to someone that is connected to an outgoing politician.
There are some particular powers or authorities that are given to politicians that are total abuse of their office and their actions are an ultimate insult to the families and friends that are connected with the crimes.
I think it is a disgrace that such authorizations/liberties are permitted. There is one element that I have to keep in mind when blogging about politics. The word shame does not appear in a politician’s dictionary.
Whenever these people are making a critical decision that involves someone else’s life; they should always try to envision how they would feel under similar circumstances.
That is what separates the men from the boys.
