Obama admin looks to ban some Social Security recipients from owning guns:

Once again the news loves to sensationalize their headlines.

The real scoop is; Obama administration wants to keep some people collecting Social Security benefits from owning guns if it is determined they are unable to manage their own affairs. I would contend that it is not a bad idea; but!!!!

There is always a but!!

How are the authorities going to conduct their examinations of the all seniors to see if they are mentally incompetent?  If they have enough money and manpower to go through that very extensive study; I would rather see them put their money and efforts into taking the guns away from the criminals in this country. I think that the criminal eliminate is by far a much greater risk to the public than some wacked out old folks.

Don’t worry about the handful of crazy old bastard that are packing; they are not bothering anyone.  When is the last time we say headlines:

CRAZY OLD BASTARD KILLED 30 PEOPLE?

The language of federal gun laws restricts ownership to people who are unable to manage their own affairs due to “marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease”. To me that sounds like the governments is describing most of the politicians in this country.

The only solution to gun control and criminal activity in the USA is to get the guns away from the desperados’ and that will be the end of 99.9% of the violence in the USA.

They know who the bad guys are, where they are hiding in plain sight and that it is against the law for them to possess firearms.  Let’s arm all of our  military personnel to assist the authorities in flushing out these criminals instead making them sitting ducks for the terrorists and nut cases.

Just like most of the ill founded efforts the government attempts; they are looking in the wrong direction.  I wonder how many billions they have earmarked for this endeavor?
