Ronda Rousey Defeats Bethe Correia By Knockout In 34 Seconds
Rascal Roughneck Ronda Rousey is the kind of a person that comes around once in lifetime.
She is the Michael Jordan of female pugilists; the Mario Andretti of the octagon; the Mario Lanza of the square circle; the Rocky Marciano of the UFC and the toughest broad on the planet.
Last night in her highly anticipated championship fight (if that is what we want to call it) with Bethe Correia, Ronda knocked out the Brazilian Bad Mouther in 34 seconds
There was a lot of mudslinging back and forth between camps prior to the fight. At one point Correia made a reference to Ronda’s father committing suicide that really pissed off the champion; for which she said she was going to punish her.
For the most part Rousey usually uses her signature finisher, the arm bar to put away her opposition. Last night was an exception; she wanted to put a real hurtin on her name calling adversary so she chose to beat her with her fists of steel in the standing up position.
Ronda inherited pugilistic and grappling skills from her mother who was a highly decorated medal winning Olympic Judo practitioner in her day.
I don’t know if there is any female out there that can put this lady’s lights out; she is one tough customer. She can probably stand toe to toe with many of the male scrappers and come out on top.
Ronda is extremely well rounded in all areas of the fighting game; stand-up and on the mat.
The only problem with being as good as Rousey; it is hard to find any competition to give her a good fight.
I heard at one time there was some hustlers trying to put together a fight between Ronda and Floyd Mayweather. Hopefully that will never come to fruition; it may be too much of an embarrassment for Mayweather to get his ass kicked by a person of the opposite sex.
All of her eggs are not in one basket and she doesn’t have to worry about making her pay days strictly with the UFC. Ronda has sponsors lined up and knocking at her door waiting for her endorsement.
In a sport that is usually dominated by men, Ronda has taken her art to a new level for the ladies. Good for her. She deserves all of her her success and works very hard to maintain it.
She is taking the meanings of; it is not lady like and act like a lady a to a totally different dimension.
