Trophy Hunter Defends Herself Against Critics In Wake Of Cecil Killing:
How can anyone defend themselves for killing one of these beautiful animal?
My personal opinion; no animals should be killed for the sport of it, even if it is considered legal in the country they are hunted in.
Sabrina Corgatelli and her male companion are just hunting these beautiful creatures for the sport of killing exotic animals, boosting their ego and for the trophies.
They claim that they are hunting legally in Africa and probably are but that is not the issue.
According to government records, the hunting industry is believed to contribute over 200 million dollars a year to African governments, through permits, taxes and quotas. Theoretically money is supposed to be used to support national parks and wildlife conservation. How about the lifestyle of the people collecting the fees?
We all know where the money goes once the governments gets their dirty little hands on it. Just like the lottery in the USA is supposed to help support the schools. Facts and figures show that only 7% of the total lottery sales goes to the schools systems. I would guess it is more like 3%, if that.
If in fact there was a need to thin out the herds of animals for a specific safety or health reason, I may agree with the hunt. But that is not the case.
Take a good look at Ms. Corgatelli’s proud picture with her trophy and tell me; when is the last time a giraffe was known to attach a human being or be a threat to anyone?
It is all for the thrill of the hunt and to spike their already ultra-inflated.
I would feel better about the whole thing if both parties were on an even playing field and hunters where hunting with spears like the cavemen did. May the best man/women or beast be the victor.
