Etiquette

Education can come in many shapes and forms, covering many different areas. All of them are important when people are being preparing to go into the business or social world and  would like to make a good impression on who they are with.

Table manners are one of the most important bits of information a parent can pass on to their kids, providing they are educated in that direction.

I have always been surprised at the poor etiquette some people have, even some very affluent people, when dining out or even in their own homes, especially how they hold the fork and knife when cutting their food.

From the day my kids were old enough to hold their utensils, I taught them the proper way to hold them so they would not look like a green horns that just got off the boat when they were dining in public. People do notice.

There is nothing that looks worse than people out to dinner, especially with clients or someone that they hope to do business with and they are holding their utensils like they just came out of a cave. The video above give a short but good presentation.

The improper ways of holding ones fork and knife  has been such an excepted way that it has become very commonplace. These very proper people that do not know just how improper they look.

It is some if the small things that kids are taught that mean a lot.

How are they going to show their kids if they don’t know any better?
