The insanity of killing law-enforcement officers continues to rise. In the USA there has been 4 cops killed in 8 days.
In one week our country has experienced an outbreak of violence against law enforcement like we have never witnessed before. It is nothing short of total insanity and lawlessness.
The most frightening part of these scenarios; there are very few options on how to control or eliminate these crimes.
One of the only solutions I can come up with that may work is; total public vigilance. The citizens have to become more alert and notify the authorities if they see or hear of a loose cannon that may go off at any time. At the same time, the laws have to change to give authorities the green light to apprehend people who may have a propensity of perpetrating a crime.
That is where we get into dangerous territory legally and with the PC-ers getting involved. They will be on their soap boxes faster then Bill-a-choke can deflate a football.
I have one question for the PC-ers. Would they rather have someone detained on a suspicion they may commit a crime or have this nut case blown their brains out because of a legal technicality? I am almost afraid to hear their answer.
These are tough times troops and unless tough measures are taken; it is not going to get any prettier.
Just as a side note:
I would recommend that ALL news casters and their crews become more aware of their surroundings. There are more demented people out there that want to see their kissers on the 6 o’clock news. It may even become necessary to have police escorts. Sad but true. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Some of the incidents have been committed by some very sick people, mad men that are mentally unstable; other are committed as random acts by deranged killers that are prompted into their actions by groups of psychopaths that are calling for the death of all cops. We may want to label this an epidemic.
In either case getting situations like that under control is virtually impossible unless laws are loosened up and law enforcement can have a little more latitude. There is no forewarning of these crimes which makes them impossible to prevent.
What is the answer? There probably isn’t one, except to act before the crime is committed. One thing that is for certain; If these scenarios are not nipped in the bud, the body of our Men in Blue is going to sky-rocket. The cops are going to get a lot edgier than they already are and will be shooting first and asking questions last. Not a good procedure to follow but who can blame them.
