IG report: 300,000 vets died while waiting for health care at VA
Is there ever any accountability in the government? Negligence such as this has been and continues to be perpetrated against the people that are putting their lives on the line for their country. Negligence of their needs should be consider dereliction of duty punishable by a severe penalties.
If these VA people are working as employees of the government they should fall under the same umbrella as any military person.
Orders Violations & Dereliction of Duty – HF
Orders violations and the charge of dereliction of duty fall under UCMJ, Articles 90, 91 and 92. Penalties for orders violations can include forfeiture of all your pay and allowances, confinement for up to 2 years and discharge for bad conduct. Maximum punishment for dereliction of duty, outside of a combat situation, is loss of all pay and allowances, dishonorable discharge and confinement. In times of war, an individual can receive the death penalty.
Is it just me or should the people that are responsible for 300,000 deaths fall into the category as dereliction of duty? That number rivals the amount of deaths that are taking place in areas like Syria and North Korea.
All the vets keep getting from these repetitious reports that have been festering for years is lip service and new czars that are supposed to be the saviors to the system but they never are.
I am not a statistician by any means but I will bet the house; if the VA was abolished and privatized, the job could be accomplished a lot cheaper and a lot more expedient than now.
Our military people should be first in line no matter what the circumstances are.
Today’s headlines:
WASHINGTON – More than 300,000 American military veterans likely died while waiting for health care — and nearly twice as many are still waiting — according to a new Department of Veterans Affairs inspector general report.
I wonder just how long a congressman, senator or any other politician has to wait before their Saw Bones will see them. It has to be less than an hour; which probably includes the driving time in their chauffeured limo to the office.
It is to the point of being ridiculous that so much conversation and so many promises are made concerning the vets and so little is being done.
The USA throws stones at other countries for the atrocities and neglect of their people. Ladies and gents; we have no room to talk. What a disgrace and disservice the government has plagued our service men and women with.
The negligence they continued to demonstrate should be considered nothing but dereliction of duty and incompetence punishable by the laws regulated by the UCMJ (uniform code of military justice).
