GM’s management neglecting to recall defective ignition switches; as culpable as committing murder:
General Motors will pay $900 million following a massive recall and more than 100 deaths after the company’s faulty ignition switches caused …
The automaker agreed to pay a $900 million fine with the Justice Department, and to three years of oversight by a federal monitor. On the same day, GM agreed to settle more than 1,000 civil claims and a class-action lawsuit.
What does the justice department do with all of the fines they receive from lawsuits settled? Foolish question Huh??
GM deliberately ignored the fact that some of their car had defective ignition switches that eventually caused the deaths of 124 people. That is the population of some small cities in the USA. Imagine wiping out an entire city?
GM (Greed Mongers) potentially faces billions of dollars in possible lawsuit awards and fines
Their negligence in addressing the problem in it’s early stages cause the deaths of 124 people. GM had ample time and opportunity to correct the problem but elected to ignore it because of the costs involved to repair the ignitions. In the long run it will cost them billions instead of a few million. Just pocket change to the Greed Mongers.
Wikipedia:
Vehicular homicide is a crime that, in general, involves the death of an individual other than the driver as a result of either criminally intention or murderous operation of a vehicle. The former case and the more common conviction of unintentional vehicular homicide is known as vehicular manslaughter.
To me it looks like there are some definite parallels between what a drunk driver is responsible for and what GM maliciously ignored causing the death of so many people.
There has to be people in the big seats making the decisions one way or another to have a recall or not. I think that they should be held accountable legally. This is just another example of; the almighty dollar rules. These people are just high paid criminals in $3,000.00 suits that are made to be bullet proof because of their devious ambulance chasers and the power of their corporations.
It is a case of total injustice to the victims and their families; an example of the power of the dollar and the greed of corporate America. An absolute disgrace.
