EVIDENCE FROM BULLET FRAGMENTS and shell casings determined that a firearm pawned by Leslie Merritt Jr., was used in four of the Phoenix freeway shootings, officials say.

This BOY is not only a very sick and sadistic puppy; he is also exceptional stupid.

Instead of disposing of the weapon after his dastardly deeds, Merritt pawned the rifle, leaving behind the evidence the cops needed to make an arrest.

Naturally he denies any involvement in the shootings; claiming he has not had possession of the rifle in months. I am sure that there is video of or the clerk that waited on the shooter that could identify him as the person that pawned the weapon.

Was the shooter doing this for attention – is he sick in the head  – or what were the motives? Luckily no one was killed in the shootings – was he a poor shot – if not, possibly he was doing it for the thrill of it.  Better find another hobby lad.

Merritt is facing a total of 28 felony charges, including four counts each of intentional terrorism, committing a drive-by shooting, endangerment, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage, disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm within city limits. His bail was set at 1 million dollars which he says he cannot afford. I am the wrong guy, I have two kids to support. He should have thought of that before he went target practicing.

The weapon recovered at the pawn shop was definitely used at 4 of the 11 shootings. One other option for the shooter, if he had anything between his ears, he would have destroyed the weapon instead of pawning it. Must have needed the money.

Merritt’s father claims they have the wrong guy. Leslie Merritt Sr. said he believes his son is being made a scapegoat by police who were desperate to make an arrest under immense public pressure.

He has way too much value for human life to even take the slightest or remotest risk of actually injuring someone, the elder Merritt said. He said his son likes guns but is not a criminal.

Most parents are in denial when their brat kid does something wrong or stupid. They do not realize the harm they are doing to their kids.

I know a guy that had a bad seed for a son. He did everything he could to straighten out the kid that had the entire family in turmoil because of his addiction to drugs. He finally called the cops, had the kid arrested, threw him in jail  and that is probably what saved the kids life and the family’s sanity. It is called tough love.

The question is; is Merritt responsible for all of the freeway incidents? Some of the incidents were not done with firearms. Possibly he was a copycat????

I wonder how many carbon copies are going to pop up out of these events?  It is a given.
