Volkswagen says 11 million of its cars have emissions test-beating software:
It is very unusual when someone/some company is a good liar, a cheat and thief; sooner or later they always get caught. When they do, the outcome is more severe than if they initially took it on the chin and the bank book from the get go and put it to bed.
This is what happened to VW with their emissions cover up. They got away with their clandestine operation for a number of years before their house of emission cards came crashing down on their tail pipe. It was all in an effort to save money and not fix the problem but camouflage it like it didn’t exist
In a statement, Volkswagen said it does not tolerate any kind of violation of laws whatsoever. It is and remains the top priority of the Board of Management to win back lost trust and to avert damage to our customers. The Group will inform the public on the further progress of the investigations constantly and transparently.
We all know what I have to say about that bold faced lie
Volkswagen’s US President and CEO, Michael Horn, and a statement Monday night while he was unveiling their new 2016 Passat, we have totally screwed up. I would consider that a monumental understatement.
Just like another criminal, they are not sorry of what they did, they are sorry for getting caught. If a person is sorry for what they did, they should have stopped their deception after the 1st time. VW pulled off their little charade 11 million times. That is a hell of a lot of maya copas’.
The public showed their disdain for VW’s deception by wacking their stock 17% or 25 billion euros yesterday. That is one solid punch in the financial gut.
If any company could withstand a 25 billion dollar hit in one day and still open the doors the next; they have to be pretty well healed. I am sure they will not miss any meals.
I am the first one to say that EVERYONE in this world cheats a little bit. Taking 2 news papers out of the box when you only paid for one – take home a 2 x 4 from work – put a piece of silverware in your pocket in a restaurant – put food in a bag at a buffet; but when we start doubling, tripling and quadrupling down on these little 5 finger discounts by getting greedy, sooner or later we get all caught.
After getting caught with their goolunies in the tail pipe; VW eventually admitted it intentionally installed software programmed to switch engines to a cleaner mode during official emissions testing. The software then switches off again, enabling cars to drive more powerfully on the road while emitting as much as 40 times the legal pollution limit. Hitler would have been very proud of them. He taught them well.

This same scenario has happen so many time in big business around the world that there are too many incidents to recount. The thieve always come out of it like a fleef being thrown off of a roof; they always land on their feet.
They get up, dust themselves off, lick their paws and go on to the next big heist.
It all comes down to one old cliche; honesty is the best policy or you better be a very good thief.
