According to The Guardian there have been 944 mass shootings in the USA in the last 3 years.

It appears to me that the shooting at the Oregon college and other incidents like it are becoming second nature to the American way of life. They used to be very big headlines – stop the press – all channels were glued to the situation with  no commercial breaks for hours.

The shooting yesterday in Oregon was almost like a whisper in a tornado; it practically went unnoticed on some of the national news stations. Why? Because it is becoming a way of life in the USA that people are getting used to seeing. The shock factor is gone. It can be labeled;  getting anesthetized to a condition.

To me this is just an indicator that the general population has become more accustom to these tragic situations. It is like when we watch the news and see what is going on in a foreign country; a bomb goes off in a city market killing 100’s people; we see the rest of the citizens are stepping over the bodies and body parts continuing their shopping like they do not exist.

This is a very complex problem with very few solutions. The only answer I see in combating these crimes is public awareness. Someone close to these nut cases have to turn them in if they suspect any suspicious activity. Even if they can not be arrested according to the law; the potential criminal can be put under surveillance.

Repeating myself: As I am writing this post there are hundreds of psychos out there trying to figure out what they can do to top/better the last nut case to get their name and picture on the news; 15 minutes of fame.

The day of assuming this type of crimes can only happen to the other guy or not in your community is long over.  No one and no place is immune. The incidents  are going to continue and escalate even to a grander scale.

Gun control is part of the answer but not the solution to the problems. Can we even begin to imagine what kind of chaos there would in be the USA if all of the responsible citizens were disarmed and only the criminal element were armed? There would be total devastation.

I still content; no one beside the military or law-enforcement should have automatic weapons, such as the AK-47. People do not go deer hunt with an automatic weapon. They want them for target practice; go buy a BB gun.

Make it a law against owning such weapons; give the criminals or anyone owning these weapons a deadline to turn them in or dispose of them. After the deadline has expired, send in military troops, (let us start utilizing our military on US soil where they can make a real difference) relieve them of the weapons, lock them up or take whatever physical action is necessary. Tough times call for tough measures. The critical time has come in this country for harsh/necessary measures.

If we continue to let the PC-ers dictate policy; we will be screwed, blued and tattooed and will not have anyone to blame but our own stupidity. These do-gooders are living in a fantasy land.

The vast majority of the people living in this country have never experienced what kind of turmoil the people other parts of the world live like on a day to day basis. If strong measures are not taken and soon, the streets in the USA will resemble 3rd world countries. The Windy City is almost there now.

I can not stress it this point any more emphatically; drastic time call for drastic measures.  Only a fool can not see the forest because of the trees or maybe they don’t want to see the reality of the situation. Living in La La Land can be very detrimental.

Everyone in this country is going to have to become more aware and vigilant of possible crack-pots if we want to curb these mass shootings. There are a lot of tell-tale clews they give off before pulling the trigger. Let us start working with law-enforcement instead of ambushing them.

The guy that wore the wigs; when putting together the constitution never envisioned our country being in the deplorable condition it is in today. If  some of you PC-ers don’t agree; you are either a very naive person, more ignorant then I thought or you are living under a rock.
