Not so high-tech

DEADLY MISFIRE? US airstrike
may have hit Afghan hospital; 9 dead

I am the first one that always supports what our military does but with today’s technology there is no excuse for bombing the wrong building or missing a target.

Nine local staffers for Doctors Without Borders were killed and 30 were missing after an explosion near their hospital in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz that may have been caused by a U.S. airstrike.

The guidance systems that control these air strikes can read the numbers on a license plate from 250 mile above the earth. Either the same system malfunctioned or the pilot screwed up bombing the hospital instead of it’s intended target.

As the old saying goes; it is not how many things a person does right that people remember, it is the one thing they do wrong that that stands out.

It is a real shame. I am certain that it was not done intentionally but that is going to be difficult to try and convince the Afghan people that.  There is no excuse for it.

This is just another in the snowballing aftermath of the very long line of deaths and injuries that are a result of our government illegally invading Iraq when we did.

I wonder; when the people that deliberately started this whole disastrous scenario feel  when they learn of incidents like this? The answer is; it doesn’t even phase them.
