Hillary Clinton Proposes Reclassifying Marijuana As A Less Dangerous Drug:
I want to know what makes weed less dangerous this month than it was last????
Possibly one of the people that interview Bill’s wife should ask her if she still uses weed. We all know the old Bill Clinton statement.
Bill’s wife wants to reclassify marijuana as a less dangerous substance in order to allow more research into the drug’s medicinal properties. Yeah
Who is she kidding. She is putting the weed issue out there to appeal to the pot heads in this country that actually do vote.
According to the government, marijuana is currently classified as a Schedule I drug. Just as a point of information; the other schedule I drugs include heroin, ecstasy and LSD. Hellooooooo
The only reason I ever considered it a good idea to legalize weed was if it put the drug dealers out of business. That does not seem to be the case, so let’s keep a ban on it.
Medical mary-jo-wanna should be legalized as a federal law for approval in all states because of its medicinal benefits to some very sick people. Very tight control should be enforced but we all know how that goes.
It is always amazing to me what a politician will consent to (sometime it is called selling their soul) just for the votes. This is one reason I have a lot of respect for the The Donald – right, wrong or indifferent he does not capitulate or apologize. He tells it like he sees it; if you agree fine, if you don’t; his other name is Donald Duck and he doesn’t ……………

It’s a complicated issue. I’m in WA, one of the “legal for recreational use if you’re at home and over 21” states. You made an important point when you said the government classifies it as a Schedule 1 drug. By legal definition, a schedule 1 drug has no potential medical use. It does have a medical use for some, so it shouldn’t be a schedule 1 drug.
If you’ll allow me to expand the reasons why it was made legal here, it wasn’t just to put drug dealers out of business. It was also to reduce the number of people needlessly held in prison for non-violent offenses solely related to marijuana, which has happened. And it makes a previously existing illegal industry taxable, part of a new revenue stream for the benefit of all residents, which has also happened. The tax rate is high, but part of that goes toward testing for quality assurance and consumer-friendly labeling. Whether one is a cancer patient or a casual user, you actually know what you’re buying, information certified by the state.
The regulatory system is still being amended, and our legislature is moving more toward combining the medical and recreational distribution systems, but we haven’t had notable increases in things like auto or industrial accidents. The biggest problem so far has been an increase in teens needing medical assistance because of ODing on edibles bought by their parents. There’s more support now for eliminating products that look like candy and sodas.
