Navy admiral reportedly fired for public drunkenness, nudity at conference:
One of the Navy’s top guns seems to have a problem with the bottle. Not the one that some people find floating in the ocean with a note in it but the one that contains the Indian fire water.
Rear Admiral David Baucom had an anchor dropped on him by his superiors for his unacceptable behavior at a conference last April.

He WAS the director of Strategy, Policy, Capabilities, and Logistics at U.S. Transportation Command until he drank too much kickapoo juice (a term that the Navy uses for booze that is made in the bilger of a ship) at a convention earlier in the year.
The incident happened in Ponte Vero Beach, Fla., where the not so admirable, admiral was attending a conference for the Navy’s contractors.
The Baucom, 56, got so hammered during the dinner where 70 people were present he could not stand up and had to be helped back to his room.
As short time later, the admiral was seen walking through the halls of the hotels with his boatswain mates whistle flapping in the breeze asking for someone to find him a towel.

Maybe they call him a rear admiral because he had his ass hanging out.
The admiral blamed his condition on a mixture of hooch and prescription medications. Naturally, it is human nature to try and
our way out of an unpleasant situation.
I am surprised that the admiral was not kicked out of the Navy.
He said in a statement After extensive medical testing and diagnoses, four doctors have stated in writing that I most probably experienced an atrial fibrillation event … which caused lightheadedness, disorientation, dizziness and confusion,” Baucom said of the night in question. “I have served the Navy for more than 34 years and am proud of our institution. I deeply regret my actions caused discredit to the Navy I love.
I am sure he does love the Navy. The lowest pay scale for a rear admiral is $9,531/mo and maxes out to $13,739/mo after 34 years. That tallies up to $164,868.00 a year.
It is not unusual for people to make idiots of themselves when they are hammered up; I have done it more than a few times myself. One thing I NEVER did was try to put the blame on something or someone else for my out of control actions. It is cathartic to tell the truth and own up to one’s mistakes or faults. What incentive does a person have to change if it never they are wrong???

If a person can’t handle the sauce, they should leave it alone.
I’ll drink to that!!!!
