White House proposes spending $3.9 billion on push for driver-less cars

I don’t know if it just me but I see more pressing issues the government can spend the taxpayers hard earned dollars on than driver-less cars.
The Obama administration is proposing to spend nearly $4 billion in the next decade to accelerate the acceptance of driver-less cars on U.S. roads, to curb traffic fatalities and travel delays.
How about infrastructure – getting the VA straightened out – developing jobs for the people that want to work (the able bodied citizens that don’t should be taken off all social programs) – education – putting the money into our military instead of cutting it – rebuild housing for people that were wiped out in natural disasters and still living in cardboard boxes and about a million other things that should take precedence over developing a driver-less cars.
Throughout Obama’s run in the presidency, he has made a special effort to undertaken issues/projects that are going to put his name in the history books to make him look like the Knight in Shinning Armour and has neglected issues that are should have been priorities.
Who really cares about a driver-less car? It has been proven already that there are numerous places and situations where they will not operate correctly.
If Mr. O is worried about traffic delays, it would be much cheaper to synchronize all the traffic light in the country that are totally out of wack. As far a curbing traffic fatalities; personally I think driver-less cars are going to be more dangerous than a Chinese teenage taking their driving test.
Self-promoting has been a pattern with many presidents. They are more interested in pushing their own agendas that are going to get them the most recognition than projects that will move the country forward.
Just as a point of information; what the hell happened to creating jobs??? I thought that when Obama took office almost 8 years ago he was going to initiate something like FDR did in 1933 with WPA ( Works Progress Administration) and put millions of people to work doing federal projects. At least that is what Obama sold to the American people. In my opinion, that should have been his first and foremost undertaking when he took office. It would have made a huge difference as of where we are today.
It is very strange to me that NO ONE, including ALL of the politicians and candidates that are running for the Big Seat, that any of them are addressing the National Debt. It is basic economics and an obligation that when someone borrows money from someone else, it should be paramount that they do everything they can to pay the debt as soon as possible. This does not seem to be an urgency on anyone agenda.
In 2015 the government paid out 218 billion dollars just in interest. 218 BBBBillion. In 2016 it will be at least 15% more. Holy shit. Can we even imagine if the USA was debt free what 218 billion would do for the country? That is if some politician didn’t steal it first. If that is not enough to make someone throw out the guts, I don’t know what is.

It is not a joke. Since 1996, 8.5 trillion dollars have gone unaccounted for. Naturally, no one has been accountable for the losses.
I often wondered why so many people wanted to get into politics. We have the answer staring us right in the face; $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
New technology is great but when they bring up questionable safety and economic concerns, it negates the usefulness and purpose of them. I can not even imagine what purpose a driver-less will serve except to make the human race more helpless and less self-reliant than we are already.
Lets face it FOLKS; our government wants to turn everyone in the country into a robot. The brains of many citizens of the world are turning into mush because they do not have to thing for themselves anymore.
Take texting for instance. The up and coming generations are losing the ability to communicate with one another effectively because they are allowing a machine to do it for them. Calculators have destroyed millions of people because it is solving mathematical problems instead of the person doing it. It is pathetic when the power goes out in any store and the clerk has to do math on their fingers and if they get over 10 they have to use their toes to give the correct change.
In school, K through college; do the student really solve problems or are the machines doing it for them. By the machine doing it for them, do they have the same understanding and knowledge of mathematics as a person that can solve the calculation mentally? Machine are solving the problem not the students.
I would suggest to Mr. O to put that 3.9 billion to better use than for driver-less cars. There are a litany of more deserving and necessary issue that need attention and financial backing than driver-less cars.
Take a look at this and tell me I am wrong.
We would be much safer if everyone in the USA was issued a robot to drive a car for them instead of relying on a ghost driver.

What happens when the satellites circling the earth that control just about everything we use goes bad all at once and mankind completely collapses? I would hate to be in a driver-less car going 70 miles an hour.
At least we don’t have to worry about stopping at Burger King for our driver; at least not yet!!!
Take it home James.
