Cleveland files claim against Tamir Rice’s family over unpaid ambulance bill

Talk about a low class maneuver by the City of Cleveland, Ohio to squeeze $500.00 out of the family of Tamir Rice for an ambulance ride to the hospital after their son was  mortally wounded by a cop.

As we all know Tamir was shot and killed by a policeman after they were called that SOMEONE, (the dispatcher did not indicate it was a kid) was waving a gun at passersbyers. It turns out that the someone was a 12 year old kid.

The toy gun he was waving around looked exactly like a real gun. That is a tough spot for the cops to be in order to make a split second decision.

Now you tell me what you would do if you were a cop and someone was point this weapon at you.  There have been many incidents of younger people killing others with firearms accidentally and on purpose

It is a tough call to make if the cop that shot him was at fault. Should his age be a factor? I don’t think so. Was the cop over zealous? Possibly.

Be that as it may; I can’t believe that the City of Cleveland in all of their wisdom had the goolunies to send the family of the kid that was shot and killed by their cops a bill for the ambulance ride to the hospital. Initially they can possibly say it was a computer error but now that the family is not paying, the city is suing them.

It is no wonder the city has been referred to as:

The Mistake By The Lake

I think the family paid enough already.
