The $100,000 job: Garbage workers:

Don’t feel sorry for your garbolajist; they are probably making more money than you are.

Noel Molina and his co-worker Tony Sankar have been  a Batman and Robin team for decade in New York City. These two hard working men are performing a job that most people turn their noses up in the air to,  just at the thought of doing.

Most feel that it is far below their social status or beneath them to get their hands and nose dirty.

Bat and Robin are real men that have been exposed to it all and take it with a grain of garbage.  They are constantly dealing with stale fish, foot-long rats, dead pigs and cows. A day doesn’t go by that they are not getting their balls busted by some drunks, druggies and other idiots that think they are second class citizens.

Don’t ever thing that their job this is a walk in Central Park. These two guys work their asses off. Their hours are between 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. — rain or shine, ice cold or burning hot and many times work 50 -60 hours a week.

Here is the kicker. Last year Molina made $112,000 last year as a garbage truck driver and Sankar made $100,000 as a helper, riding on the back of the truck.

All day long they are lifting very heavy objects – dodging in and out of the Big Apple’s horrendous traffic – dealing with the irate public but when Friday comes around and THE EAGLE SHITS, these two stand-up hard working guys laugh all the way to the bank.

A little info for some of the boys in the hood that think the word WORK is a dirty 4 letter word. There is a big demand for gabolajist out there.  I know the hours my not fit into your leisurely schedules but it is out there if you want it.

Get some self-respect and show your peers and kids that you are not a government created social parasite/cripple.  In the long run you will feel better about yourself.

Let’s face it lads; garbage and getting rid of it is always going to be an issue in this world, so there will always be a need for gabolajis.

Both Molina and Sankar have full health care coverage and a 401(k) retirement account. If they leave the job, they are entitled to severance pay too.

My hat is off to these two gentlemen that are great examples of; IF YOU WANT IT, IT IS OUT THERE.

Commander and Chief
