Evidently Ian Desmond never heard of the old sayings; a bird in the hand is worth two in a bush or get it while the getting is good.

Most people; if they would have just signed an 8 million dollar deal would be doing the Irish Jig but that is not the case with Desmond.
Ian Desmond signed an 8 million dollar deal yesterday but was too thrilled about the transaction. Either the lad is greedy – extremely foolish or has a very hungry agent.
After he put his John Henry in black and white on the contract, the light went on in his thick cranium that he just blew over 100 million schadols.
In 2014, Desmond turned down a seven-year, $107 million deal from the Nationals. Last November, he turned down a one-year, $15.8 million qualifying offer in order to hit free agency.
All in all, the short stop or now short pocketed ball player blew about $122.8 million over the last two years. That has to be a tough pill to swallow.
Just think how many Bentleys and much jewelry he could have bought with 123 million dollars.
I think Ian better look for a new agent while he is still able to scoop up those line drives.
