Tim Cook: iPhone fight ‘very much about the future’
Apple CEO Tim Cook says the company’s fight with the Federal Bureau of Investigation over an encrypted iPhone is about more than one device.
During a lengthy interview with Time magazine published Thursday, Cook echoes the company’s stance on the case, where a judge ordered Apple to break into an iPhone used by one of the assailants in the San Bernardino, Calif., shootings.
I still say; if it were Cook’s life or his family members lives at risk; he would cooperate in micro-second.
Under certain circumstances concessions have to be made in the name of national and international security. It is not all about a just few people.
Each situation has to be dealt with on an individual basis. FOLKS; the rules of survival have changed dramatically and we better change with them. The authorities have their hands tied, not only in the USA but around the world where companies that have encrypted information refuse to cooperate with the investigations.
I totally agree that there should not be Carte Blanche given to governments to access private information but if the security of any country is at risk, they should be compelled by law.
Without exaggeration; down the road millions of lives could be at risk if these companies do not capitulate and assist authorities.
