This was the brilliant statement made by Nautika Harris, Trevon Johnson’s cousin, after the thief was shot dead robbing some lady’s house in Miami.
“You have to look at it from every child’s point of view that was raised in the hood. You have to understand, how he gonna get his money to have clothes to go to school? You have to look at it from his point of view,” Nautika Harris, Johnson’s cousin stated.
I think Harris is way off base. There are millions of kids that were brought up in the hood that are not thieves.
I don’t know how many robberies Trevon Johnson committed before this one but I do know it was his last. Home owner Gwendolyn Jenrette shot and killed Johnson during the robbery attempt. She was definitely justified, regardless what color the robber’s skin was.
I wonder if Nautika Harris house was being burglarized if she would have shot and killed the thief?
With a mentality like this, it is definitely sending the wrong message to the good kids in the hood.
