Sirius Radio serious shakedown:
The other day I received my annual bill from Sirius Radio and began having some very serious chest pains.
When they first came on the scene and started broadcasting in 2002 the subscriptions were $14.99 a month – for a year, was probably $150.00.

Like all of the other money-mongers out there serving the public; the longer they stay in business and get entrenched in our lives, little by little the dig their greedy hooks into the consumers, add 10 cents at a time so we don’t notice until there price is in outer-space like their satellite. Cable TV, the same thing; pirates without a ship; ribbers without a mask
The bill I received the other day was for $229.00 for one year. That amount is not going to put me in the soup line but if there is one thing I hate is get screwed in any transaction. Like the old Chinese proverb goes; I don’t mind getting screwed (or another expletive) once and awhile but I do like to get kissed a little.
This morning I called their 866 number – after listening to 24 options – naturally was on hold for 15 minutes or more, possibly trying to discourage me from hanging on, but I am a persistent person.
When I finally got to talk to a live person I stated my case and told the lady; I didn’t tell Sirius to hire Howard Stern for outrageous sum of money when the opened their doors to attract customers. Are they are trying to make it all back at once.
Before you start felling sorry for Sirius; they are making some serious bucks.

Right now The Shock Jock is making around 80 – 90 million a year for insulting people. Hell, I will do it for 10% of that amount. I say good for him.
Side note: I watched the guy on a couple of different programs other than Sirius and you wouldn’t know it is the same person. Two entirely different personas, very dignified and articulate. Away from Sirius, he is quite a guy!!
I told the young lady from Sirius that I felt like I was getting stuck up and was going to cancel my subscription. Much to my surprise, she voluntarily reduced my bill from $229.00 to $95.00 plus tax. I was pleasantly surprised.
If any of you subscribe to Sirius Radio and get an outrageous bill, call them, tell them you are going to cancel and they will reduce your annual fee dramatically. Seriously!!!
The squeaking wheel always gets the grease.

…and who says it don’t pay to complain!
Good 4 U…happy 😉 saturday
