The Pentagon’s controversial plan to hire military leaders off the street
This fool has be joking. April fools Day was about 2 months ago. I don’t know just how pissed off I want to get on Father’s Day. I don’t think my ticker can take anymore of this politicians stupidity that has been plaguing us.
I feel like my old pal Redd Foxx
This unqualified joker for the job, a guy named Ash Carter that calls himself the Defense Secretary must be smoking some very powerful hallucinating drugs to come up with a hair brain idea like this. And how about the guy that appointed him. Neither one of them have any military experience and are a definite threat to the governing of our troops.

This clown is suggesting that people are picked off of the streets and promoted to higher ranks in the military; circumventing all of the basic training (going through the ranks) that goes into the making of a good military person. That applies to all branches.
Defense Secretary Ash Carter wants to open the door for more “lateral entry” into the military’s upper ranks, clearing the way for lifelong civilians with vital skills and strong resumes to enter the officer corps as high as the O-6 pay-grade.
Take this guy out of that position before he really hurts someone. How is it that these men have such little regard for the military’s lives that they assume these positions without experience. Without a doubt, they are a extreme danger where they are sitting.
When so many lives are at stake and so much responsibility is attached to very critical posts; any high ranking position in the military should only be given to a well qualified person that came up through the ranks and earned their stripes; not someone that needs to be paid back or quota to fill.
Years back a good friend of mine worked at a manufacturing plant and related this story to me. This was at the height of segregation move. A young black man went and applied for a job to operate punch press, he hadn’t experience so the company turned him down.
No satisfies with their decision, he went to the NAACP and asked for them to intervene on his behalf. They did – he got the job – 2 days later because he was not skilled in that field, he chopped off both of his arms. Get the drift???
I have said it for years; no one should be able to sit in any politicians chair, especially at the federal level if the people have no military experience. Most of them don’t know the barrel of a rifle from a phone booth. Yet they are put in extraordinary -high supervisory capacities to make critical decisions that only a seasoned veteran could possibly qualified to make.
Some of the decison making in recent years has been way out of wack in the sensibility departments. Race – color – creed should not enter into the appointment of someone; QUALIFICATIONS should be the only qualification. Archer is clearly not qualified when he is making preposterous suggestions like he is.
People in the military should have to earn the rank and stripes, not handed to them like a certificate that can be bought from the Inquirer for 5 dollars
It is like a janitor at AT&T being promote to the CEO of the company to fill a quota. For the most part; these ass-a-nine methods are not used in private corporations. They would be out of business in a week.
That is not the way the system is supposed to work. What do they care; their kids or kids of family and friends are not on the front lines.
