Veteran Pa. congressman convicted in racketeering case

In the City of Brotherly Love a jury convicted Pennsylvania the congressman of racketeering case that largely centered around his various unethical and unlawful methods to repay an illegal $1 million campaign loan related to his unsuccessful 2007 mayoral bid. Money that he most probably used for personal luxuries.

Fattah was found guilty of all counts against him, including racketeering, fraud and money laundering. His am-bu-lance chasers argued that the schemes for the paybacks were engineered without Fattah’s knowledge (naturally) by two political consultants who pleaded guilty in the case.

Remember the little story I tell about the guy that had a loaf of bread under each arm and still was not satisfied? Well!!!

The 59-year-old Democrat had been in Congress since 1995 and served on the powerful House Appropriations Committee. But he lost the April primary and his bid for his 12th term. His current term ends Jan. 2.

Fattah had little reaction to the verdict, but he kept a smile on his face as he conferred with his lawyers afterward.

People like Fattah have been living on easy street so long; they think they are untouchable and above the law. He is going to learn the hard way that 15 minutes of pleasure is not worth spending time in the big house.

One the other hand; if he has one of those  consolatory judge,  they may send him to one of the luxury pens we have in the USA for white-collar criminals.  Like going on vacation.

If the prisoner gets really lucky, they get sent to a prison that also OFFERS conjugal visits.  Not too bad for being a convict. What is the purpose of confining them; some have it better in the slams than they do on the outside.

Fattah told reporters as he was leaving the courtroom: Well, it’s a tough day, but I do want to thank the jurors for their service.  This is one very gracious fella.

Never forget; the Pied Piper always come marching back around to collect what is due him.
