Italian restaurant under fire for selling ‘Black Olives Matter’ merchandise

A restaurant owner in New Mexico is trying to push a new sandwich he put together by developing a slogan for it by naming one of its ingredients, black olives.

Rick Camuglia owner of Paisano’s said he emblazoned the phrase on the restaurant’s main sign to sell a new recipe: a tuna dish with black olive tapenade. He even printed shirts to promote his new panini.

All of a sudden; faster than Rick could make an Italian sub with black olives on it; the phone were ringing off the hook and the email was nastier than a three-week-old tuna sub left in the sunshine to ripen, with over sensitive sympathizers to the controversial group Black Lives Matter.

To begin with, this was supposed to be the USA where freedom of speech is a big part of our liberties. 2nd ly there are groups of people out there that are sitting and waiting to protest and demonstrate against anything and everything that doesn’t suit their fancy.

If these naysayers are pissed off at Rick Camuglia for using the words black olives matter, I would think that many of these other words are offensive to them.

Possibly they can initiate a movement to get the word black stricken from the English language. After all, many of these same people are the ones that want to be addressed as black people instead of all the other numerous handles they had through the years.

I think it is time to get off of the persecution complex soap box  these people have been on and become part of the system instead of bucking it all the time.  The world does not revolve around just them; although many of them seem to thinks so.

On the other side of the hate coin;  Rick said that people from all over the world have called his restaurant to show him support.

“It’s gone so viral. We’ve gotten calls from Australia, Spain, France, you name it,” Camuglia said business is booming. Good for him.

Let us all get the gigantic black olive chip off of our shoulders and unite under one slogan; ALL LIVES MATTER. That is one of the reasons why the word UNITED is used in the United States of America. It is not called the Black States or America – the White States of America – the Brown States of America or the Yellow States of America, it is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Possibly there are some people that would want to change that as well.
