“You say you pay for me to do this? That’s bull crap. I pay for myself,” Rep. Markwayne Mullin told constituents at a town hall in Jay, Oklahoma. I paid enough taxes before I got here and continue to through my company to pay my own salary. This is a service. No one here pays me to go.”
“Pays you to go where?” a constituent objected.
“This is a service for me, not a career, and I thank God this is not how I make my living,” Mullin responded.”Oh please, then don’t run,” a constituent said.
Maybe the guy thinks he can walk on water?
Based on his response; does the congressman have a side job besides the one he has as a do-nothing government employee? It seems to me , he is running a company while he is supposed to be working for the American people. I thought to be a congressman it was a full time job.
According to records, congressman makes $ 174,000.00 a year.
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average annual wage for all occupations was $47,230 in in May 2014. Broken down by occupation, annual wages ranged from $19,030 for cooks in fast food restaurants $246,320 for anesthesiologists. These figures exclude compensation in the form of non-cash benefits like health insurance.
Compared to what the average American makes, the people in congress do very well. I am sure that added to their salaries are many perks that Joe Blow American does not have.
I just did a post on potential fools that think they are above the rest of us and may have too much power. Can we even imagine a guy like Markwayne Mullin having the power to press the button?
This boy forgot where he came from and who put him in office! Someone better keep a sharp eye on this character.
