Shooting at GOP gathering is a time for unity, not partisan finger-pointing

We didn’t have long to wait. Chris Collins, a Republican congressman from New York, told WBEN radio within hours: “I can only hope that the Democrats do tone down the rhetoric. The rhetoric has been outrageous—the finger-pointing, just the tone and the angst and the anger at Donald Trump, his supporters. Really, then, you know, some people react to things like that. They get angry as well. And then you fuel the fires.”

Newt Gingrich said on “Outnumbered” that left-wing rhetoric has sent a “signal” that “it’s okay to hate Trump, it’s okay to think of Trump in violent terms,” asking, “And we’re supposed to rise above it?”

It is gratifying to see that all sides come together when there are tragic events; BUT, always the BIG BUT, it is only temporary.

Just like patriotism in this country or should I say the lack of, whenever there is a national tragedy, all of the flags come out of the closet for a very short time but that subsides rather quickly, lasts about 2 weeks, then everyone goes back to hating one another.

Patriotism and supporting the government should be a full time endeavor for all of the country’s citizens, not a part-time.

The origin of all the dissension stems from bull-hotheadedness , out of control ego and stupidity.  Most of the offenders are a group of pamper politicians and celebs that are extremely juvenile and used to having their way.  They get off on banging their heads against the brick wall and make a fool out of themselves. They have never learned what the word compromise means.

All of the bickering and acting like fools is very costly and counter-productive to this country. Only when a national tragedy happens do the fools ever come together.

As I said yesterday; many of the fools do not realize or care that they are firing up nut cases like yesterdays shooter by constantly throwing gasoline on the fire.

Nothing will ever change. Their togetherness/sentiment is a short lived emotion. They will all get back to BAU before the clock strikes midnight; or until the next time the feel it is fashionable to wave the flag.
