Court overturns Marine sniper’s conviction for urinating on dead Taliban fighters

A military court on Wednesday overturned the conviction of a former Marine sniper involved in urinating on dead Taliban soldiers in Afghanistan in 2011 after evidence emerged that a top general meddled in the case to ensure a harsh punishment, reports said.
Staff Sgt. Joseph Chamblin was convicted almost five years ago and sentenced to 30 days confinement, had his pay docked and was demoted over a video that showed the Marines urinating on enemy corpses, The Washington Post reported.
If pissing on a dead enemy solider is the worst thing a Marine or any other military person did, I would say, they should consider themselves lucky.

The USA is the only country that fights wars by a rule book. The enemy knows our weaknesses and ignorance and uses that pathetic PC mentality to their advantage.
I do not condone abusing a corpse, BUT I also do not agree on penalizing any military for pissing on the corpse of the enemy. Possibly a good ass chewing just for show and tell, but a court-martial, prison time and a fine is out of the question.
The men and women in the front lines are putting their lives on the line daily to protect and defend the USA. If in the heat of battle, one of them pisses on a dead enemy solider, so be it.
The only thing that an enemy respects is if their adversaries are more violent than they are. All the outrageous PC-ness should be taken out of combat. The only thing that matters in any war is winning. After all; 5 minutes earlier, the dead guys were trying to chop the Marines to pieces. We should classify the Marine’s actions at ; the heat of battle.
Let us put things in perspective. Take the deserter Bird-dog. He deserted – is a traitor – 5 people were killed in an attempt to find this worm – he was convicted but not given any jail time ANDDDD the military is considering giving he 300 G’s in back pay. Is what he did worse than pissing on the enemy?
Sad to say; in many areas our military they have become very soft. As a consequence, their PC-ness plays right into the enemy’s hands. What we need more of are men like General Chesty Puller running the show.

General Puller was head and shoulders way above some of the military people now serving. They could not shine his shoes.
Lt. Gen. Lewis “Chesty” Puller, is a Marine Corps icon who’s known for his quotable quotes nearly as much as his battlefield accomplishments.
Here are 17 of the lines that show why Puller is beloved to this day:
1.
2. “Don’t forget that you’re First Marines! Not all the Communists in hell can overrun you!”
3. “You don’t hurt ’em if you don’t hit ’em.”
4.
5. “Hit hard, hit fast, hit often.”
6. “Where the Hell do you put the bayonet?”
(He said this while at a flamethrower demonstration. Apparently, Puller wanted to be ready to stab the men he set on fire.)
7.
8. “Great. Now we can shoot at those bastards from every direction.”
9.
10.
(Puller said the gem above after being asked to comment on the 22 Chinese divisions surrounding his First Marine division. The First Marines successfully broke through Chinese lines and advanced south, destroying seven of the Chinese divisions in the process.)
