DOJ scolds Obama administration over reported groping, harassment, office sex

The Justice Department scolded the Obama administration on Wednesday following a report on how sexual harassment of all kinds was improperly handled at the department for years.

The Washington Post reported that the DOJ’s inspector general had found “systemic” problems with how complaints were addressed, with offending officials often being let off the hook or even rewarded. The article cited investigative reports on a lawyer who allegedly groped two female attorneys and a top U.S. Marshals official who had sex with “approximately” nine women in his office.

The department heads and higher-ups that knew about these incidents are as bad as the zipper lips in colleges, religions and other organizations that keep it hush hush not to create any waves.

One of the most prolific perverts in the DOJ was a high rank ambulance chaser, named Victor Lawrence.  He is accused of groped the breasts and buttocks of two female trial attorneys at a happy hour party.  I guess he can not control that fire water.

He got his wrist slapped, a title change, but not a demotion.  He was not suspended and did not receive a loss in pay or grade.  After all, what should we expect, he does work for the Department of Justice. His superiors really know how to discipline a guy. I am surprised they didn’t award him a months long, all inclusive vacation in the Caribbean for his handy work.

One woman, who was not identified, told the Post she was “terrified” to get in an elevator out of concern he’d be there.

On the flip side involved a woman predator, a former Oregon prosecutor named Amanda Marshall was accused of sending harassing texts and sending emails to a subordinate after an “intimate” relationship ended. She later resigned and apologized, reportedly calling the relationship “wrong” and a “mistake.”

I like the word scolding they  used to describe the department being chastised. It reminds me of an old school teacher yelling at a kid for misbehaving in the school yard.

What ever happened to firing someone for inappropriate activities??

It is no wonder why so many ladies do not come forward and report the assaults. Many times their molesters are protected or the accusations are reversed making them the aggressors.

Just like everything else in our twisted world. This phenomenon may simmer down for awhile, as long as the heat is on, but sooner or later it will come back to the same grab-assing routine.

We all know the old standard or rule of thumb in big business and government. If someone, especially if they are one of the honchos, screws up enough, they usually get promoted.
