Why is it when I want to designate a time with someone, it is necessary having to be specific as to whether it is a.m. or p.m. Totally ridiculous.

For centuries the military and law enforcement have used the 24-hour method of telling time. There is no confusion in an emergency situation or any other critical matters that may arise. I think it would be a great idea if the United States got in step with the rest of the world.
Butt, we always run across the same barrier; that a change so drastic would be too difficult for our young people to grasp, better yet, no one wants to take the TIME to teach them. That says volumes about the teaching systems and teachers we have in this country. It is not the students we have a hard time convincing, it is the teachers that do not want to put the effort into it.
Just like the metric system that everyone in the world uses, except the United States of America.
I don’t know of how many people are aware of the fact that the metric system can be added, subtracted, divided or multiplied, where our current Antiquated imperial system is not divisible in mathematics.
Common sense should tell us, we should get in the line with the rest of the world.
One of the arguments that plagues decision makers is that our kids would not be able to adapt to the metric system very easily. I personally think that is a very sad commentary for the teachers in the USA, not the students
If everyone in this country started to use military time, it would take the guesswork out of many situations.
Example:
6 p.m. is 1800 – 7 p.m. is 1900 – 10:30 p.m. would be 2230.
6:AM IS 0600 – 9:45 AM IS 0945 and so on – 5 minutes after midnight would be 0005.

This does not have to be a cold turkey operation, it can be implemented gradually through the system taking 4-5 years to completely change.
This process will eliminate the confusion as to whether a person means a.m. or p.m. and better yet we will be in step with the rest of the world..
The USA and two other countries, Burma and Liberia are the only 3 countries that do not use the metric system. Should that tell us something ??

Hello USA, it is 0845 and time to get your lazy ass out of bed. Half of the day is gone.
Let see if this post can gain any traction. Pass it on to all of your contacts and friends, that is if you have any!!!
