John Wayne Airport should be renamed, some say, after screen legend’s 1971 Playboy interview sparks controversy

The ANTI-MOTHERS next assault will probably be challenging whether the Blessed Virgin really a virgin. The only thing they are not ANTI over is their ignorance. I was going to say stupidity – OH what the hell, stupidity.

Give the Duke and the rest of the American icons a break. These fools idolize trash like Alec Baldwin, BUTT Roll Boulders at The Duke.

A debate is now underway over whether a Southern California airport should bear the name of screen legend John Wayne, who died nearly 40 years ago at age 72. The discussion stems from the recent social-media uproar that followed the resurfacing of a 1971 Playboy interview in which Wayne made remarks that critics described as racist and homophobic.

John Wayne Airport is located in Orange County, where Wayne lived for most of his adult life. The airport, previously named Orange County Airport, has been the subject of debate in the past, but mostly over concerns that the Wayne name fails to convey the airstrip’s location in Santa Ana.

The latest calls for changing the name stem from Wayne’s remarks, made at age 63, that he believed in “white supremacy,” at least until “irresponsible” black people became more educated, and that Native Americans were “selfishly” trying to keep their land.

Since when is an opinion of any person in this country a sacrilege. That was The Duke’s opinion. He didn’t say ALL black people, he said irresponsible black people. Anybody that is irresponsible needs an attitude adjustment.

Just like all of the fools that are trying to erase history by tearing down monuments and displays of the people that made this country great. History serves many purposes.

Do the black people want the world to forget slavery existed – Do the Jewish people want to erase the Holocaust?? Naturally not and they should not be forgotten. If for no other reason, as an example of what NOT to do in the future. So why rename an airport because of what John Wayne said 40 years ago. He could have been partially correct.

Those were different times and a different set of conditions back then when ALL people had different mindsets.

The most significant/instigating practice that did not exist then, BUTT does now in a huge way is (PC-NESS) political correctness. In many cases it is an absolute joke and is warping the minds of our kids. They are growing up in a society/culture of fools.

Let Marion Robert Morrison (AKA John Wayne) rest in peace. No wonder he changed his name; Marion would been a tough sell as a rough tough cowboy and military person. You gun slingers better hide; Marion is coming to town.

Note: The very patriotic Wayne who played in scores of military movies never served.

I will still give The Duke a Big Semper Fi for his contribution to the American people as a stand-up citizen and a great role model for his country.
