Way back when, when chivalry was still alive and the price of poker was reasonable, it was customary for the man to pick up the tab on a date.
Nowadays everything is so ridiculously expensive that I think it is prudent for the lady to pick up half of the tab, especially when they want equality, and some make more than the man does.
It is time to get current and go with the flow. If you want to deal you have to shuffle.
