Johnson & Johnson ordered to pay $572M in opioid case
GMAFB. Johnson and Johnson has a net worth of $360 billion. To fine them 572 million is a joke.
To fine them 752 million dollar$ is just a slap on their Band Aid. They made billions selling Opioid to the public, knowing that they were breaking the law.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, opioids, many of which Johnson & Johnson supplied were responsible for more than 400,000 overdose deaths from 1999 to 2017. Hunter seeks $17 billion to cover all costs related to the state addressing the epidemic for the next 30 years, including treatment and prevention programs.
Checkout the numbers. JJ is worth 360 billion and fined only 572 million, GMAFB. To fine them 572 million is laughable. The fine is 0.00015888 of their worth. I call that a slap on their Band Aid.
What is the incentive for them to not break the law if their fine is so insignificant to their bottom line?? The CEO of JJ probably spends that much on a company New Years Eve party.

If the company would have been fined 25 to 50% of their net worth, (I would say to the judge that got a new car – pool – mansion and a check for life) ; that would have got their attention.
I hear through my sources, I don’t know if they are right or not, that JJ is coming out with a new and more powerful drug SUPER-OIDS that pack triple the punch of their old line of pain killers.
Supposedly, one of their honchos was overheard say; Boys and Gals, if they are only going to scratch our surface with those small fines, let us do it bigger and better the next time. What do we have to lose, a few more Band Aids??
